Important Information

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING – April 19, 2020 via FaceBook Live. If you desire to attend the meeting you have until then to figure out how to access FaceBook Live. Our only business will be the issuing of Divine Calls to a Kindergarten teacher and a 4th grade teacher in our school. More information will be coming soon!

Worship on site at Immanuel Lutheran Church is suspended until Sunday, May 3. The Elders met on the internet this past Thursday. Among the items discussed was worship at Immanuel. In light of the fact that the pandemic is picking up speed in our area the elders decided to continue our suspension of activities at Immanuel Lutheran Church through April. We are hopeful our first Sunday back will be May 3. Whenever our first Sunday back is, it will be our all-out Easter celebration. See you in church soon.

CONTINUE TO FAITHFULLY watch our daily devotions from Pastor Mark. Actively share them by forwarding your email to family and friends.

PARENTS - FAMILY CHATS: Another great resource from Dr. Tim Elmore, Growing Leaders, for ALL FAMILIES, YOUTH, YOUNGER FAMILIES (with modifications) AND OUR SENIOR MEMBERS (take a look & pass on): SEE LINK BELOW

Philippians 4:6-7, 4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. 5 Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; 6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
May that Peace be yours, God bless all of you,
In His Service, - Mr. W - SDG

Sunday School

Sunday School Fall Session has begun! Parents, please bring your children down to the cafeteria, and make sure you complete a registration form and volunteer form.
We always welcome more help as we proclaim the Good News of Jesus to the children! Please contact Mary Wesselschmidt  or Deaconess Kelly if you can help with any of the following:
• Teaching a class (We do Team Teaching, so you do not teach every week)
• Substitute teaching (Occasionally teaching a class when needed)
• Unlocking/locking classroom doors on Sunday mornings (we have a team of people who do this, so you probably only have this responsibility about every 4 to 6 weeks)
• Taking attendance/collecting offering (we have a team of people who do this, so you probably only have this responsibility about every 4 to 6 weeks)
• Chaperoning activities, field trips (eg. Going to the nursing home)
• Helping with crafts

Our Sunday School program this year is: Delivered—God’s Gifts of Grace. We encourage you to ask your children what they are learning each week about our amazing God and the gifts He so freely gives! We want to teach our children the importance of service, so we are incorporating several different ways for the children to serve, such as making cards to encourage people and visiting Cedarcrest Manor (a nursing home) which is next door to us.

Our Sunday School offerings are for September, October, and November will go to support Robin “Birdie” McCoy, missionary to Thailand.

Fundraiser for Grace’s Place

Christian Care is having a fund/item raiser for Grace’s Place Crisis Nursery in Washington. We are calling it “Helping Hands for Grace’s Place”. It will run from September 1 until September 16. The items that are needed are: paper towels, disinfecting wipes, all-purpose cleaner, window cleaner, baby shampoo, kids 3 in 1 (shampoo, conditioner, body wash all in 1), laundry and dish detergent, fabric softener, face wash, 2T-3T and 3T-4T Pull-Ups. The Nursery is also in need of gift cards for Lowes. The gift cards are needed for supplies to do basic maintenance of the facility. If you would like to help them please place your items in the bin that is in the narthex labeled “Helping Hands for Grace’s Crisis Nursery”. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.
